Paul is a rock star.

I "caught" Paul reading to Joss today. He pulled a chair right up to the swing, sat down, and began "reading" an alphabet book, explaining the pictures as he went along. . .
I thought it was awesome. Joss seemed to enjoy it, and by "enjoy it" I mean "slept through it."
Then I asked Paul to put on his socks and get his shoes. He ran out of the room then ran back in with the socks on his hands. He was thrilled with himself. Eventually, he sat down and began to put the socks on his feet. He got one sock part way on, then got distracted by the dust buster. When asked what he was doing, he looked up and said, "I'm under the table, Mommy." (The "duh" was implied.)
We finally got all involved parties properly shod, car seated, and out to Trader Joe's. With Joss in the Moby Wrap, and Paul manning a child-sized shopping cart, grocery shopping has never been so fun! Paul was a total rock star, picking out yogurts, putting pizza dough and bananas into the cart, and hardly ever bashing into a display case. Paul took a victory lap around the store, then helped put the groceries on the counter for the man to scan and bag. Then he helped carry the extra cloth shopping bags back to the car.
After TJ's, we went to the playground. Paul is so close to figuring out how to pedal a tricycle. (The vehicle in the picture is not a tricycle.) After an hour, Paul helped by carrying Joss' empty bottle back to the car. Then he ate one of the "big yogurts" in a "big cup" for lunch, and went for a nap with only some resistance and a small tantrum. Hey, even a rock star's gotta keep his street cred, right?
