Safta went home?

Blargh.
I want Safta to come back to Boston! We had such a good time playing with my toys, and climbing up the stairs, and playing "chase" through the house. . . Come back, Safta!

Paul plays with a large beach ball. . .

. . .at least until the microwave beeps that his lunch is ready. . .

Let's get down to the bottom of this. . .

Psst! Wanna Buy a Duck?

Paul's first. . .word. . .is Quack. Well, Ack, like he's some Bloom County character. He's been saying Quack for a few days now, but we have been unable to get it on tape. . .until tonight. . .

While watching Sesame Street this evening (the storyline involving a duck who forgot how to quack, and said Moo instead), Paul Quacked back at the TV - very cute.

Then later, during dinner. . .

Well, almost. . . how about now?

Not quite. . .now?

Yes! Yes!! Quack, Paul, Quack! (he Quacks at about 0:30)

On an amusing side note, when Paul does not want to eat whatever is in his mouth (placed either by a parent or by himself - doesn't matter which) he does this swiping, tongue-wiping thing. . .

(He's a bit of a drama queen. . .)

A boy and his. . .octopus finger puppet?

Paul decided today was the day of the Octopus Finger-puppet. He put it in his mouth, and crawled around downstairs toting the octopus like he was a puppy. . .

Paul helps unpack groceries. . .

Paul helps unpack some groceries. . .
Look at all this chocolate! Is mommy going to make cookies?
Oh yes, Peanut Butter M&Ms. . .maybe someday I can try one of these. . .someday. . .
Well, better clean up this mess. . .

Cauliflower - the new "it" toy. . .

Paul loves the books. . .

I know Safta Sheila has pictures of me at about Paul's age pulling books off the shelves. . .well, like mother like son, I guess. . .

Where are the pictures in this one?

Visiting Bubbie Rose, and Uncle Marty and Aunt Ina.

After saying goodbye to Ian, Hilary, Dylan and Max, Paul and Daddy went to visit Bubbie Rose.

While waiting for Bubbie to get ready, they entertained Aunt Ina with a well-honed musical review. . .
Paul, Uncle Marty, Aunt Ina, and Bubbie Rose. And daddy in the mirror. . .

Hey, cool stroller, Bubbie Rose! How's the mileage on this thing?

Daddy and Paul call on friends and family on Sunday morning.

Remember the friends who came to see us in September?

Paul and Daddy left Mommy at Safta's house to sleep (woo-hoo!), and went to visit Ian, Hillary, Dylan and Max at their house in New Jersey.

Max was a little surprised to see Paul. . .
Ian made Pumpkin waffles - mmm, mmm, goooooooood!

Dylan let Paul play with his books and toys. Dylan is a great big brother!

Hilary, Max, and Paul.

So. . .how long do I have to wear this hat again?

Safta bought Paul a special hat that he was supposed to wear at Temple on Saturday morning, but it was forgotten at home. So, he had to wear it later for the obligatory photo op. . .

Meta-picture:
I feel ridiculous in this thing, Safta. . .
Hello? Baby cheese-doodle? Yes, thanks for returning my call. How much longer do I need to wear this hat? One good picture for Safta? OK, can do that, thanks. . .
Hooray!

Hanging out with friends on Friday

Friday, we all drove down to New York to see Safta Sheila. On the way, we stopped to visit with Mommy's best friends, Jes and Cindy. Jes has a new baby that Paul wanted to meet. . .

Jack shows how he's going to be a great big brother by showing Paul how to play with his toys. . .
Hello Annabelle! Welcome to the world - sorry about the golbal economic crisis and all - our bad.

Paul tells some secrets to his Honorary Aunt Cindy. . .

Paul feels a little chatty at Safta's house on Saturday.

Warming up. . .through havoc. . .

Paul thaws out after our chilly morning by tearing apart the kitchen, starting with this little corner. . .

I'll destroy this room with my laser-eyes!!

Chillin in the North End

Literally "chilling." It was in the 30s on Wednesday, but the sun was shining, and we spent the morning walking around the lovely North End neighborhood. . .

A view of the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge from the Rose M. Kennedy Greenway. . .
Is this a Paci or a Popsicle?

Paul Weil, meet Paul Revere.

Wanna Buy a Duck?

Paul can Quack! Well, when you hold a rubber duckie up to him and say "quack," he'll say "quack" back! Well, more like "ack! ack!" but still pretty cool.

Here's him sleeping - all that qacking tired him out!
