Passover 2010

We had a lovely Pesach Seder last night. Nearly twenty people! Wonderful family, friends, and food. And we even got through the Hagaddah. Well, mostly.

Aunt Ina, showing off her "boil" mask. Gotta love those plagues!

Our friend Jodi meeting the family.

Paul showing off his "blood" mask.

Bubbie Rose shows the locusts.

Cattle sickness makes Bubbie Barbara very sad. :(

Dancing to Dayenu!

Aunt Phyllis joins the dance.

The whole mishpacha!

Cousins!

Oooo...pretty...

Joss has a lot of women in his life!

Bubbie, Safta, and Joss.

I want to hold him!

Today, Paul decided he wanted to hold his brother, and tried to pick Joss up off of Mommy's lap. Daddy decided it would be best if Paul got to hold the baby in a somewhat more controlled manner. . .
Despite an abrupt increase in the frequency and intensity of his tantrums, Paul is taking rather well to big brotherhood. We are very proud of him, and are amazed that we all survived the week!

Mommy's boys.

Day two. . .

Still liking the baby, 24 whole hours after he invaded, er came home.
Daddy multi-tasks.
Joss' reaction to. . .
. . .what Joss sees.
Kara, Brendan, and Georgia came over to say hello to Joss. Joss was thrilled to meet them; after all, without their help, he would probably have been born in the bathtub!
Cookies!!
Uncle Eric, Jacob, and Asher came by on their way home from a men's weekend in NH to greet the littlest man-Weil.
Disheveled Family Portrait:

New Food: "Peeps"

Mmmm. . .sugar. . .
Paul seemed more interested in having the Peeps than in consuming them, but he did manage to leave a trail of bunny heads behind, which is more creepy than it sounds.

First day at home.

Sorry for the delay in blog-posting, but it has been a busy (and sleep deprived) week!

While seeming to really like his new brother, Paul wasted no time before beginning his textbook case of regression. . .
So much for any potty training. . .
Joss didn't seem to bothered by his new environment.
Mike, Reiko, and James came over for a take-out Chinese food dinner, and to get a preview of what their lives will be like come June. . .
Look - twins! Wonder how Joss would look in Baby Bradford's clothes?

JOSS! IS! HOME!!!!

5 weeks and six days after he was born, Joss finally came home!! Paul was thrilled to meet his brother, hailing him with a hearty "Hi Joss!"

Our first real family picture. (Note how already Joss can't keep his eyes off of Paul.)
Paul gently rocking Joss in his car seat. . .
Gently!! Gently rock the baby!

Braaaaaaiiiiiiinnnnnssssss

This is the book Paul's reading.

The Importance of Object Permanence

Mommy nearly died laughing when during his bath, Paul placed the washcloth over his lap and looked up asking, "Where penis go?" Ta-DAAAA!

Hey - I wake up sometimes, too.

Gonna need a bigger boat. . .

. . .er, crib. Yeah, he's not a shark. Gotta stop trying to feed him chum. . .

Hanging out with Paul, or Reading Is Fundamental. . .

Paul grabbed one of mommy's library books from the bookcase, and sat down to "read."

Then he played with his cars. . .
One binky is for amateurs. . .

400K!!

Paul's blood platelet count today was 400,000! (That's up from 4,000 when he was hospitalized.) Woo-hoo!!

Still hanging in the NICU

Joss is over 7lbs now, eating very well, nursing like a champ. . .but, like his mommy, he is uncoordinated. Unlike mommy, who just bumps into things, Joss is still having occasional trouble coordinating eating-breathing-heart rate. This is totally normal for preemies, and just means that he's still a little immature.
Also, the nurses love Joss and think he's adorable. . .maybe it's a plot to keep him there?
