Halloween: Good Idea / Bad Idea

A good idea for Halloween: Dressing as a dragon!

Paul was a little angry when Grandma Shelly stopped him from pulling things off the shelf in order to try on his costume hood. . .
. . .he had more fun trying on the whole ensemble with daddy. . .
Grr! Scary dragon!!
Paul and Daddy at the daycare mini-party (a buncha babies in cute costumes (omg - there was this little chicken costume - too cute!!) playing on the floor. . .).

A bad idea for Halloween: Vomit monster!
This is the way Paul went this year. . . When he says "trick or treat" better stand back and grab a bucket!

There are no pictures for this particular turn of costumes (you're welcome), and Paul is now resting, occasionally even comfortably.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Rubber Ducky - you're the one!

Rubber Ducky, you're the one. You make bath time lots of fun! Rubber Ducky, I'm awfully fond of you.

Rubber Ducky, joys of joys. When I squeak you, you make noise! Rubber Ducky, you're my very best friend, it's true!

Everyday when I make my way to the tubby - I find a little fella who's cute, yellow, and chubby. (rub-a-dub-a-dubby)

Rubber Ducky, you're so fine, and I'm lucky that you're mine! Rubber Ducky I'm awfully fond of. . . Rubber Ducky I'd like a whole pond of . . . Rubber Ducky I'm awfully fond of you!
See you soon, Daddy! I love you!

Hi Daddy!

Hi Daddy! I miss you! I had a great day at daycare! And I was hanging out with one of the aides, and then I saw Mommy, and then I began shrieking because I wanted to go to mommy so bad, and some other baby's mommy said it was the cutest thing she had seen all day!

And we got home, and Mommy made me spaghetti and steak (I tried to get the big pieces she was shredding for me instead of the little pieces she was actually giving me, but I don't have teeth yet - duh - and couldn't possibly have gummed the bigger pieces even if I had managed to grab them away from Mommy), and broccoli - I love broccoli so much, I began shrieking in between bites, just like in Costco with the soup this weekend!
And then I took a bath, and Mommy filled it up a little too much, and I was kind of floaty/kind of slippery, and I didn't like that too much, but I love playing with the blow fish (fugu me!), because the prickles are tickley on my tummy, and I love the two little pirate rubber duckies, and I was so tired, I only tried to crawl off the changing table twice during lotion and pajamas, and am sleeping now, but have set my baby-alarm for 3:17 am, just to remind Mommy that I'm still here (don't tell her - it'll be a surprise).
I bet one of my first words will be "run-on sentence," but what do you want from me - I'm only one year old, and I miss you, and I like hearing your voice on the answering machine from a message you left over the weekend, and Mommy has to get me more yogurt drops, and when are you coming home, the piano is too quiet, and I love you Daddy! Say "Hi" to Mickey, whoever that is - I'm one, what do I know from Orlando?

New Food: French Onion Soup, Eggs

Yesterday, we went on a family run to Costco - but we went too late in the day to graze on free samples (I know, why bother even going, right?). We did catch the last small cup of chicken barley soup. . .and gave Paul a small taste. He went bonkers. Began yelling in between spoonfuls (it was really hot, and I had to cool each spoons worth of soup), and was not happy when it was all gone.
After Costco, we went to dinner at Outback, and ordered some French Onion Soup. Paul again went crazy for it, opening his mouth like a little bird begging for more. He also really liked the brown bread they serve, although he was not a huge fan of butter on the bread.
Today, Paul hung out with Daddy for most of the day - errands in the morning, playground in the afternoon, resisting naps for most of the day. After Daddy went out for his Zamir concert, Mommy made breakfast for dinner! We shared an American Cheese omelet and toast - and Paul had some banana as well. . .

Play Cube

Paul barely let me put a clean diaper on him before he squirmed off to play with his cube. . .

New food: Milk (and 12-month Doctor appointment)

Paul had his 12-month dr appointment today! We postponed his vaccinations for a week or two so he could completely recover from his viral rash, but we did the weight/height/head circumference and exam parts.

He is over 22# (about a pound less than last week, before his sore mouth severely curtailed his appetite), and 30" tall, with a head circumference of 18". This places him in the 80% for height and head circumference, and while he's now in the 60% for weight, he would have been in the 80s before his virus-diet. Way to catch up the growth curve, little peanut!

Paul is cleared to eat all kinds of new foods - whole milk, strawberries, honey, eggs - anything except nuts and fish (gonna wait on those). Today, he had a sippy cup of whole milk with lunch. . . I think he liked it!

Paul certainly loved his noodles with tomato sauce and cheese, and enjoyed gnawing on a slippery slice of canned peaches. Peaches come from a can - they were put there by a man. . .

Giant lizard baby!

Paul's Birthday Rampage

Paul was sick for his actual first birthday. A little virus didn't keep him from crawling through the house, getting into any and everything. . .

Oooh. . .shiny lamp. . .
. . .I wonder if I can pull it down on top of me. . .unngh. . .nope, shaky but sturdy. . .
Hmm. . .what's in this glass thingy? Perhaps a collection of breakable-type items? Anything edible?
Gotta take a break from havoc. .. how about some blocks. . .
Mommy, c'mon, I'm not feeling great - can you put away the camera?
