Mmmmmm - Chinese food!

Before Safta and Bubbie began their long trek back to NY, we had dinner at our fave Chinese restaurant.

Paul demonstrated his noodle-eating prowess for Bubbie:
After dinner, we tried once more to get that 4-generation picture. . .

Mommy - eat the cookie!!
Daddy! Gimme back the COOKIE!!!!!
*sigh* Maybe we'll get one when Safta and Bubbie come back for Paul's birthday. Maybe.

Twins!

Paul's FIRST Haircut - Part II

Thanks for the reading material, Bubbie - I much prefer this book on trucks to last week's Star. Besides, if I read another work about Jon and Kate, I'll cut another tooth, I swear.
Yeah, salon capes are for other kids. Me, I'll just pluck hanks of hair off my shirt, toss them to the floor and say "Yucky."
Well? Whaddya think?
There's gotta be a full-length mirror around here somewhere!
Well, Mommy may miss my curls, but the ladies seem to love the new 'do!

Paul's FIRST Haircut - Part I

It was time. The unruly curls. The unmanageable golden halo. Being told how pretty my daughter was. It was time for Paul to get his hair cut.

We went to Snip-its - a kids-only cuttery, where the staff are especially trained to trim quickly as well as accurately. Paul ran in the front door and made himself at home.
OK, Mommy, lets do this!
This isn't so bad!
Wait, not liking the wet-head thing. . .was that really necessary?
Oh, all the beautiful, golden, boy curls!

Narcissus in Training

Paul watching videos of himself on Safta's notebook:

Happy 22nd Luniversary!

Today is the penultimate lunaversary - one more, then it's years and casual fractions until the end.

Safta and Bubbie Barbara came up for a visit. After shul, and a nap, Bubbie, Paul, and Daddy went to play in the park.

After the park, Daddy tried really hard to get a nice picture of all 4 generations. . .
. . .but just lacked the necessary coordination and cooperation. . .

Harvard Testing again!

Friday, Paul went to Harvard to participate in another psych experiment. This one was a pilot study about how toddlers imitate play from either their own identity group (e.g., and English speaking adult) or a different identity group (e.g., a French speaking adult).

He did well in the experiment, but had an even better time playing with letters on the magnetic wall in the waiting area.
After, we had lunch at Mr. Bartley's burgers, which Paul loved most of all.

Pesto Pesto Man!

Paul wants to be a Pesto Man!
Yay for noodles and fresh pesto - made with basil and parsley from mommy's container garden!
Hey you! More noodles!
Please?

The Bolton Fair!

Today, we braved the 90+ degree heat, and went to The Bolton Fair! It has been ages since mommy and daddy went to a proper fair, and this was Paul's first time!

A horse show was beginning just as we arrived. The horses and ponies were ridden by children/young teens, and Paul was mesmerized.
Then we found the petting zoo! For 50 cents we bought a cup of animal feed, and showed Paul how to feed the cows, and horses, and donkeys, and llamas, and goats, and sheep. . . Cows have very long tongues, and llama's have very large bottom front teeth. Just FYI.
Paul also got to pet a bunny. Pat the Bunny, too.
Paul also saw baby bunnies, and some ducklings.
We hope Paul didn't get any ideas from watching the kids butting heads. . .
Paul also had his first corn dog and funnel cake, some BBQ, ices, lemonade, and saw 2 magic shows and tables of prize-winning vegetables. It was a jam-packed - and very, very hot - 3 hours.
Can't wait for next year!

That's the best tasting hot dog I ever heard!

Paul hoovered down a hot dog at the Fudrucker's in the Jordan's furniture store complex. This was after he tried to pick up the "jellybeans" printed on the floors, and jumped on at least 3 different beds.

We have a ghost!

Dinner with Georgia

Last night we drove all the way to northern Melrose to have dinner with Georgia and her parents. But first, red wagon rides were in order. . .
And we saw a rainbow. Because it was raining. As we had a BBQ outside on the (gorgeous new) patio.
Georgia has all sorts of cool toys.

Peek-a-boo!!

Welcome to our new addition!

Introducing Baby Bradford Jonathan, Paul's new adopted kid!
Paul likes to hug and kiss Baby Brad. . .
. . .and to play with Baby Brad's binky. . .
. . .and to feed Baby Brad to the hippo.

Awesomeness.

Tonight, as we were finishing dinner and prepping for bath, we watched Star Wars Ep. 4 (the real first episode). The 'droids came into view, and all of a sudden Paul pointed at R2-D2 and C-3PO and started shouting, "Robot! Bebop! Bebop! Bebop!!"

Awesome.

Dance, monkey! Dance!!

Whut??

And we thought we'd have another dozen years before we got the 'tude working. . .

Digging for gold!

Mommy and Daddy are soooooo proud.

Hanging out with Cousin Jonah

Cousin Jonah was visiting from Philly for the week, and we got to keep him Friday night!
Paul initiates him to the ways of the Club of the Funny Glasses:
Jonah teaches Paul the only safe way to drink and drive: open containers in the trunk.*
Everybody is happy after a pancake breakfast!
"Cheese!"
