Joss Playing

They're big blocks, Mommy. I'm allowed to play with these. Duh.

One block is good. . .

. . .but all the blocks are better!

Yay for blocks!

Hanukkah 2010 - First Night

Happy Hanukkah! The first night, December 1, 2010, Daddy was still away on business travel, so Mommy, Paul, and Joss lit the menorah themselves.

Paul was really into playing dreidle.

Joss was into feeding himself puffy stars.

Paul didn't seem to mind that the latkes were from a box mix.

After a minor squabble over toys. . .

. . .the boys enjoyed a warm bath.

Joss was putting his toys in the clean laundry basket; Paul came up behind him, put out his hand, and said "No, Joss! Stop sign!!" Mommy keeled over laughing, then took Paul to go tooth brushing.

When we came back from the bathroom, Joss had pulled out a basket of VHS tapes (and dust bunnies), and scattered them around the room.

Paul, very helpfully, picked up the cassette tapes and returned them to the basket, which Mommy promptly removed from reach. (Not sure why we still have that basket - don't think the VCR is even plugged in anymore.)

It may not have been the most exciting of first nights, but we had fun.

Zoo Lights!

On Sunday, November 28, 2010, we went to see the Zoo Lights with James and Kayla and Mike and Reiko. . .

It was pretty cold. . .

. . .so the kids bundled up.

Fun with camera settings!

Zoo Lights was an interesting and eclectic combination of nocturnal animals. . .

(those birds were totally making out)

. . .and creepy skating Barbie dioramas.

Joss was suitably alarmed.

Paul loooved the model train they had set up. . .

. . .and was very excited to ride a real train with James!

(Paul can barely contain his excitement.)

Afterwards, we went to Friendly's for fried dinners and ice cream.
(Joss offers a shout out to the Binghamtonics of a certain era. Also, GYRO!)

Paul and James get down to the serious business of eating ice cream Sundaes.

Where's my ice cream?

Happy Thanksgiving 2010!

Thanksgiving was at Uncle Eric and Aunt Andi's house, like usual. Joss had a great first Thanksgiving, down to recreating a favorite old photo. . .

(The turkey/baby comparison is a little more impressive when you're born in October, rather than February.)

Joss enjoyed playing with his cousin Jacob. . .

. . .and cousin Sophia enjoyed playing with him!

Joss nibbled on some of Uncle Eric's fried turkey, but devoured Aunt Andi's squash and pear soup. . .he ate most of Mommy's serving!

No, Grandpa, I want to look at you!

Grandpa discusses fireplace maintenance with Paul.

Asher and Paul explore the new trend in the housing market. . .

Asher wrestled a tiger - a new holiday tradition?

And Uncle Eric gets stuck with the dishes.

Joss had a great first Thanksgiving!

Happy 10th Luniversary, Joss!

Well, 10 months, 1 week, and 1 day-a-versary.
(Will catch up posting by this weekend, promise! We've got Thanksgiving and all of Hanukkah to get through. . .)
