Old friends. . .

On Friday, we had a play-date with Mommy's friend from High School, Evan, and his family. (Not all the children in this picture belong to Evan and Alyssa. Some "extras" were hired to give the day that particular chaotic feel. . .)

Beren, Paul, Nate, and Evan.
That night, Cindy, Jes, Shawn, Jack, and Annabelle come over for Shabbat Pizza and a good ole veg-fest. Good times.
We went to Shul Saturday morning, hit the road after kiddush, and we made good time back to Boston. Paul is happy to be home, but misses his Safta.

New Year's Day

On New Year's Day, we went to brunch at mom's friend's house, then to New Jersey to visit Bubbie Rose, then to visit Shawn's friends Robin and Adam and their two kids. And we forgot the camera! Lack of photographic evidence notwithstanding, Paul had a wonderful time.

Then, Safta gave him his bath, where they both had fun. . .

(. . .until Paul pooped the tub. Every party has a pooper, and that's usually Paul.)

New Year's Eve - Part III

The little kids made it through to "real" New Year's Eve with aplomb. . .

. . .not so much the big kids. . .
. . .like father, like son. . .

New Year's Eve - Part II

We've been friends for the better part of 2 decades. This means we are very old.
*sigh*
Happy New Year.

Jes prepares for the real estate crunch ahead - she's renting out this one room attached studio for only $3K/month - a total steal. . .

We had "Fake New Year's" at 7:30pm for the younger set. Twice the opportunity to pop confetti bombs!

It's a Shawn-yata! Hit him with a broom! (Just kidding!)
Cindy chills with Elton John.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We rung in 2009 at our friends Jes and Shawn and Jack and Annabelle's house with much Prosecco and confetti. Paul had mini hotdogs and peek-a-boo with Honorary Aunt Cindy. . .

Paul and a sticker

Paul learns about the sticky properties of a sticker. . .

. . .until he tries to eat it. . .

Look! Paul's walking with his push-toy!

After crawl-pushing the toy into James, then across the room, Paul finally stood and took a few steps!

. . .well, it didn't last long. . .
But he did push his rocking-horse across the room until it got stuck in a doorway. . .that was a good 8-9 steps for him. . . goofy, almost walking, boy.

New Food: Camembert

8th night of Hanukkah w/James, Mike & Reiko

Our friends Mike, Reiko, and James came by to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah with us tonight. We played with toys, lit candles, spun dreidles, and had take-out chinese food. Much fun - and presents - were had by all.

Flashback. . .

Remember this last year?

Everyone's a critic.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. . .

7th night of Hanukkah

On the 7th night of Hanukkah, Paul lit candles with Mommy and Safta (while Daddy took pictures). Then. . .

Peek-a-Boo!

Or as it's known at our house, "Where's Paul? There he is!"

(Sorry they're a little dark. . .)

Lunchtime is way more fun when you can play with Safta Sheila!

Safta Sheila's making funny faces

Oh, Safta, you're so funny. . .

Just kidding!
More, more!
Uh-oh, that's what Mommy does. . .

6th night of Hanukkah

Yes, Uncle Eric, Aunt Andi, Jacob, Sophia, and Asher all came by on their way up to NH to light the Hanukkah candles with us for the 6th night. Safta Sheila also came up for the weekend. It was a wonderfully rambunctious hour of fire, fried food, and presents. . .

"Woah."
