Some overdue updates

Wednesday, Paul took a walk with Daddy - for the first time in his big-boy stroller (Paul, not Daddy)!

Thursday, we all drove to NY to visit Safta for Passover. Here, Safta and Bubbie Barbara show Paul all the things he must not touch. . .

WE'RE HOME! HOME!! HOME!!!

Ahhhhhh. . .home. . .

Paul "hearts" Red Barn Computers!

Paul's tour of Binghamton

Paul, aka "Joe Cool" is ready to tour Mommy and Daddy's alma mater. . .
Paul and the sundial. . .
Paul outside the Lecture Hall. . . Did you know the Lecture Hall quacks?
Paul and the Library Tower. . .
Paul and the Library Fountain (not yet on for the season). . .

Paul and where the Fine Arts Fountain used to be. . .
Paul and the beginning of Spring!
Paul and the Engineering Building. . . (Mommy used to check her email there, back when email was in it's primitive "pine" and "elm" stages. . .)
Paul and the new Clock Tower. . .

Paul in the Memorial Garden at the Fine Arts courtyard. The upper left picture is Paul's great-Uncle Andy.
Paul and the new University Bookstore, where Mommy bought him a ton of Binghamton swag in various sizes. . .

See the new map of the Brain? Lots more stuff there than when Mommy and Daddy were at school. . . and even more stuff than when Safta Sheila and Saba Paul attended Harpur College at Binghamton!

Binghamtonics 20th Birthday Bash

The weekend was the Binghamtonics 20th anniversary show. We had lots of fun both seeing friends who still live in the area and folks from the Tonics, new and old.

On Saturday, while I was rehearsing, Beren and Paul hung out with Rob at the Lost Dog Cafe.

Tonics 20th Birthday Bash

Then the Tonics fun started. Click above for more photos of the concert and parties.

Cousin Josh was at the concert.
There were lots of alumni, including about 10 folks from my years and earlier.

And even Paul got to sing (although he never auditioned).

On Sunday, after breakfast, we played with Jon, Dina, Bailey, and Melanie.

Melanie & Paul played footsie...

...and the "This Little Piggy went to Market" game with the two dads...

...and with Melanie's old toys.

Then we went SWIMMING!

Not sure what Paul thought of the water, though. It was a really nice weekend to reminisce and reconnect. One more day here, and it is back to Boston!

We're in Binghamton!

A little more than 12 hours after we had arrived home from Denver, we were in the car and heading off to Binghamton! Paul tolerated the first half of the drive very well by sleeping (as did Mommy), but by the end of the 5-hour drive, he was restless to get out of the car (who could blame him?).

So, instead of going out with Daddy and the other 'Tonics (you've got a baby - in a bar?), Mommy and Paul remained at the hotel, enjoying WiFi and room service. Then, Paul got to to go bed in a baby jail! Hard time for you, Mr. Farty-Pants!
Tomorrow - will Paul win an early release?

Wednesday, April 9th

Paul and Mommy went to an awesome bakery for breakfast. . .yummy latte, eggs, and we bought a Hedgehog to share with Daddy (red velvet cake around a cream cheese center, covered in fudgey icing).

Then, Paul and Mommy went to the Downtown Aquarium. . .

We saw sea cucumbers, starfish and sea urchin (uni to sushi aficionados) . . .

. . .ooooh, Barracuda . . .
. . .Paul watched a lot of fish go by. . .

. . .but like his Aunt Margie, was not a fan of the PIRANHA!

After the aquarium, we had some chill out time. . .
. . .then Daddy and Paul went to sleep.

Our flight home on Thursday was not terribly delayed by the massive snow in Denver (just a little delayed by the ground fog at JFK), and our car seat and stroller base were only a little broken by the grounds crew at JetBlue. . . Time for a little sleep, a load of laundry, and then off to Binghamton!

Our Tuesday in Denver

This morning, Paul and Mommy slept while Daddy get ready for his conference by taking pictures of them.

After a morning of hanging out, nursing, playing, getting dressed, and tidying up the hotel room, Paul and Mommy went to meet Uncle Peter for lunch. This is the view from Uncle Peter's office:

. . .and this is the view of Uncle Peter!

After lunch, Paul and mommy spent a lot of time (and money) in the Tattered Cover book store. It's an independently owned bookstore, so mommy doesn't feel guilty.
Then, Paul and Mommy walked down the 16th Street Mall - a pedestrian mall based on Pearl Street in Boulder, only longer, and with free shuttle buses.
In Boston, one must make way for ducklings. In Denver, watch for buffalo crossings. . .
Paul found his first encounter with "Cows on Parade" to be udderly delightful.
After a full day of flirting with every single stranger who made goo-goo eyes at him, Paul forgets himself, and shows Mommy a little leg.

Mommy, Daddy, and Paul regrouped at the hotel, before separating for different dinner plans. Mommy and Paul met up with an old friend from summer camp (and her adorable 2-year old daughter), while Daddy had a business-dinner with Matt and Ryan.

Finally, Mommy, Daddy, and Paul all came back to the hotel room, where Daddy read to Paul the books that Mommy bought, Mommy blogged about the day, and they all went to sleep (right, Paul? They ALL went to sleep!).

The End.

Oops - missed yesterday!

Yesterday - Monday - we said goodbye to Aunt Beth, and left for the Celestial Seasonings Tea factory. While we couldn't take the factory tour (no children under 5 years - something about infant industrial espionage), we* did enjoy the Tea Tasting Room and the gift shop. (*"We" means Mommy.) Here's the Sleepytime Bear!
Then, we went to Pearl Street - Boulder's pedestrian mall - where we had lunch, and investigated a great toy and kite store. Paul was rockin' the black light. Dude.
We then drove on into Denver, and checked in to our hotel. Paul became fast friends with the bolster.

After a little napping and nursing, we met up with our friend and Binghamton University Alumna Dina. We had wonderful Mexican food, and Paul almost got into a baby-fight with the wiry 7-month boy at the other table, but they reached a truce over mojito's. . .
