A Walk in the Woods

We have two newly minted hikers! Paul (4) and Asher (6) have just returned from an adventure in New Hampshire with their proud papas. A kvetch-less 1.6 mile hike up 1000ft to the AMC Lonesome Lake Hut, a swim in a glacial lake, a night in a cabin, and a descent later, and the kids are asking for more!

What better thing to do than spend Father's Day with my boys! Of course they mostly ignored me. Must be doing something right.

Can't argue with that.

Discussing "good touch/bad touch" at dinner tonight:

Daddy: What are some kinds of good touches?
Paul: Patting someone on the head, giving them a hug, or giving them a kiss are good touches.
Daddy: What are some kinds of bad touches?
Paul: (thinking a moment) Touching someone with FIRE is a bad touch.

Paul likes to read in bed. Sometimes he falls asleep with a book in his arms.

Sometimes the book is open when he falls asleep.

 

And sometimes he falls asleep mid page turn!

Harvard Museum

On Feb 20 2012, Safta joined us on a trip to the Harvard Natural History Museum. We loved the dinosaurs, animals, and rocks!

Party Aftermath - Oh, the Presents!
