You might be a redneck. . .if your piano is up on cinder blocks!

Mommy wanted to decorate the front window for Halloween, while Joss played nicely on the rug with some toys. Mommy pushed the piano on it's casters over a few inches, like she's done every time she's decorated the window for the past few years. Only this time, the piano moved, but the piano leg did not. The leg screws ripped out, and the piano fell. . .thankfully onto the plastic toy storage drawer units!

Joss was quite almost a piano sammitch. Mommy panicked for a few minutes, moved Joss away from the piano, and called Shawn. . .who had her call the piano tuner, Doug Tybor. Who was on vacation, and didn't get the messages until after Daddy came home and propped the piano up with cinder blocks.

Mr. Tybor called us back as soon as he could, and told Daddy that he did the right thing. Once he returned from vacation, Mr. Tybor came over with his piano-jack, and repaired the piano leg.

Paul, by the way, is no longer permitted to play underneath the piano. There are, after all, two other legs which were not repaired. . .yet. . .

Joss and locomotion

Mommy needed to clean the kitchen and prepare dinner and Daddy was finishing a project for work, so for 20 min, they plopped Paul and Joss down - Paul on the couch, and Joss on his back on the floor mat - with Sid the Science Kid for distraction. Suddenly, Mommy heard a muted thumping noise, and went to investigate. This is what she saw:

Joss rolled over, scooted backwards from that white floor mat in the background all the way to the door, and was batting it against the wall. Uh-oh.

Cousin Selene's Wedding

October 9, 2010 was our cousin Selene's wedding in Mystic, CT. The whole family was there - Safta Sheila even came up to babysit Paul and Joss in the hotel room. =)

Playing Hooky with Daddy

On Wednesday, October 6, 2010, Daddy decided to play hooky with his boys. It was too rainy to do an outdoor activity, so we went to the Boston Children's Museum.

Paul loved the giant rope/platform/climbing maze in the entryway. . .

He was also a fan of the lower-tech attractions. . .

Joss was fascinated by the fish in the baby playroom.

He had to stand up to watch them!

After enjoying separate activities, the boys reunited to share some books. . .

Later that night, Joss developed a deep cough that alarmed Mommy and Daddy enough that Daddy took him to the doctor's office. It was only a cold, nothing to worry about, but we did learn that Joss weighed 17.2 pounds!

Apple Picking 2010

On October 3, 2010, we continued the family tradition of apple picking! We love going to Doe Orchards, and even though it was a little later in the season than we usually go, we still had a great time - and good pickins. . .
