Sick Paul Recovery
Paul had a fever Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday, he was doing better, but still not at 100%. He climbed up on the couch, asked for a pillow and his blankets, and begged to watch Annie. He actually watched quietly for about an hour.
Then the lion went on the prowl. . .
Joss' 3rd Luniversary!
Happy 3 months Joss! The first half was a little rocky, but these past few weeks have come together nicely. Joss is now a whopping 12.1 pounds - in the 25th percentile, up from 4th percentile 6 weeks ago. He is 23 inches long (16%, up from 9%), and his lovely round head is a gigantic 16.25 inches - 53rd percentile (up from 9%).
Joss enjoys a good swing - sometimes for up to an hour or longer!
Joss has his "witching hours" in the evenings, where a day's worth of accumulated gas give him tummy aches and crying jags. Once the gas is passed, however, Joss likes to grab a last meal, and then will sleep anywhere from 4-6 hours at night, waking to eat around 3-4am, then going back to sleep until 7ish.
Joss had been noticing the world around him, and is often contented to lay back, kick his legs, wave his arms, and watch the world go by. Well, as long as someone (usually his Mommy) is real near by - Joss is a social boy, and does not like to be left alone, even for a minute.
Most of the wispy reddish hair he was born with has fallen out, and a light fuzz of indeterminate color is growing in. any bets on whether it'll be blond like his brother, dark like him mommy & daddy, or red like the pool boy?
Paul is a conscientious and attentive big brother. He loves saying good morning to Joss, and gets the baby a binky and sings lullabies when Joss is crying.

The Next American Idol
So, Paul was sitting in his chair, cheerfully making a horrible screaming noise, and I adminished him, "Paul!" He looked over at me a *very* hurt look on his face and said, "Mommy, I singing!"

Carefully controlled chaos
Paul has been spending Thursday nights at his Grandma & Grandpa's house, where he has been having a blast playing with his cousin Asher. When Mommy came to take Paul home on 04/30/10, they had been running Grandma & Grandpa ragged for hours. . .
Asher decided he wanted to help feed Joss after watching Paul help feed Joss. Good thing Joss never stops eating!
Paul has a little car-seat envy. It was cute until Asher began trying to pick Paul up in the car-seat.

Visiting Bubbie Rose
On our way back to MA, we stopped by to see Bubbie Rose. Shawn and Paul entertained her with a few duets. . .
. . .and then Joss' Bris video, which was more graphic than Mommy & Daddy realized.
On the way home, we stopped at a diner in CT for dinner. Paul refused to sit in the highchair, and ate his chicken fingers - and part of Daddy's burger - sitting in the booth like a big boy. There was a minor tantrum when we would not let him eat some chicken that dropped on the floor. Then Daddy took him to the men's room for a diaper change.
There was no changing table in the men's room, so Daddy had to lay Paul down on the counter between the two sinks for diapering purposes. Then some dumb-*expletive* schmo walked up to the counter, put his hand on the soap dispenser right over Paul's face, and proceeded to get soap all over Paul's head!
"What the hell are you doing?!?" Daddy asked.
"I needed soap," said the schmo.
"My son's head is RIGHT THERE. You couldn't wait for me to move him??"
"My hands are really greasy," said the schmo.
"Waaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!" screamed a soapy Paul.
" ," fumed Daddy.
Never a dull moment!
Brunch with the Old Skool Crew - Part 2
Brunch with the Old Skool Crew - Part 1
Sunday morning, we drove to NJ to have brunch with some of Daddy's friends from early childhood and our collective 6 (!) kids.
Yo Gabba Gabba mesmerizes the children.

The Great Baby Sleep-Off!
Paul at the Res' - Part 1
Weekend before last, we all drove down to NY to visit Safta Sheila. Saturday, after Shul, Daddy, Safta, and Paul went seeking playgrounds. . .

So, from what I was told, Paul was at the top of the slide, and a slightly older girl grew impatient and pushed him down it. See picture below. Paul climbed back up the slide, and sat there, stubbornly unmoving, as the girl grew increasingly agitated, until Daddy had to climb up andremove him. (While I know we should discourage him from seeking retaliation, this sounds exactly like something I would have done. . . heck, would still do.)
