Happy Birthday James!

Paul's friend James had his first birthday party today! Last year, Paul gave a stomach bug of epic proportions to all of James' family. This year, he just gave a toy. We hope.

Paul is an avid multi-tasker - and we have talked to him about the dangers of texting and driving. . .

Paul had his first sips of Apple Juice today. . .he also had Fresca (he made an awful face, but kept coming back for more sips).

James also enjoyed his party.

We sand Happy Birthday to James - at the end of the song, Paul clapped and laughed, but during the singing, he had eyes only for the cake!

Paul and mommy played the "chasing Paul around a wall and screaming" game - an old family favorite. . .

18-month check up!

Paul had his 18th lunaversary on Wednesday, and his 18-month dr appointment on Friday. As seems to be usual, he snacked his way through the visit. . .pretzel sticks everywhere. . .

Paul gained a pound (26.6# which is the 60th percentile for weight), and grew about an inch (32" which is 41st percentile for height), and his head circumference increased a bit, too (18.8" which is the 64th percentile for head circ). He also got one more vaccination, which he took like a champ - cried for 12 seconds, then back to the pretzels.

The bad news is that Paul's doctor is moving back to Colorado to be closer to her family. I guess that's good news for her and her family, but we're going to miss her! Good luck with everything, Dr. Barron - you're a great pediatrician!!

After his appointment, Paul and mommy went to the mall to get mommy jeans. Paul was very good in the store, and ate about half of Mommy's food court taco afterwards.

We stopped at the used book store that now occupies what was Waldenbooks. Paul had a great time running off all those pretzels and the taco, and had a grand time knocking over a little yellow folding chair, and setting it back up again (frequently with huge heavy-lifting grunting noises).

Waiting for Grandma

Friday morning we waited for Grandma Shelly to come over - she was going to take Paul to get his first pair of big-boy shoes!

The stale roll was so good. . .

. . .Grandma HAD to try it!!

We went to Stride Rite, and Paul was fitted by the sales lady. As mommy was looking at the choices, Paul was proactive and wondered off into the back room of the store. The sales lady led him back to the shopper part of the store, and he tried on his shoes.

Paul seemed to like them a lot. Once he got used to wearing them, he strode out of the store, turned left, and proceeded to tour the mall. . .until he passed by Victoria's Secret, into which he made a beeline. Mommy chased after him, and herded him back to the store, where he tried on a pair of sandals. He liked those too, so Grandma bought him both pairs of shoes! Thanks, Grandma!

Done with Passover!!

Paul was very happy that Passover finally passed over this year. . .he dove on the bread at Bertucci's thursday night like he hadn't eaten in a week. . .and thoroughly enjoyed the leftover roll the next day.

Paul testing out a cabinet that, until recently, he could open and try to grab at the heavy glass pot-lids stored within. Daddy recently ended that pot party with a clever plastic latch. . .
